Welcome to Viewfield Medical Practice

We aim to deliver a needs led, centre based, quality, primary care service through all members

of the primary care team.

We have a team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Primary Care Mental Health Nurse, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Primary Care Pharmacists, all supported by our admin and reception team.

We strive to get people seen by the right person at the right time and there are a number of resources to help this happen.

CONTACTING THE PRACTICE by PHONE or IN PERSON

Our telephone lines are open from Monday-Friday 8.00am-12.30pm and from 1.30pm-6.00pm.

Our reception desk is open from 8.30am-12.30pm and from 1.30pm-5.30pm.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE PRACTICE WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT ASKING TO BE SEEN BY A CLINICIAN.  WE OPERATE AN APPOINTMENT ONLY SYSTEM.

Our routine review appointments are available to book at 8.00am every morning, for one week in advance.  If, however, you have a new or urgent on the day health concern our clinical triage is available Mon-Friday from 8.30-10.30 and 13.30-14.00.  Your details will be taken by the admin team to allow a member of the clinical team to call you back and discuss how best to deal with your urgent health requirements.  PLEASE NOTE - Telephone triage should not be used to enquire about prescriptions or sickness certificates.

Our admin team have been directed and guided by the clinical staff to ask you for details of your health concern to ensure that you are correctly signposted.  Please be reassured that they, along with all staff within the practice, operate under strict confidentiality guidelines.

VACCINATIONS

Over the last few years there have been some changes to how some services are delivered.

Immunisations are being delivered by a new Forth Valley vaccination team.  The Practice is unable to access the booking system so cannot advise when you will be called or change an appointment for you.  This includes childhood immunisations, travel vaccines and Flu and Covid-19 immunisations.

PHLEBOTOMY

Blood Samples are now routinely undertaken by a new Forth Valley Service, CTAC.  We still hold the appointment book for this and the service is based in the same building as we are, but it is no longer practice staff that will be taking your blood under normal circumstances.

GET WELL, KEEP WELL

Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.  There is also access to advice and support through both the NHS Forth Valley and NHS Inform websites.
