Covid Vaccination Exemption Certificates - lmportant Notice

GPs and their teams cannot issue vaccination exemption certificates.

Further information on the vaccination exemption certificates including information on safe vaccination and routes to

obtain an exemption can be found on the Scottish Government and NHS lnform websites.

Alternatively you can phone the free NHS Covid helpline on: 0808 196 8565

In line with current government guidelines for level zero we must, unfortunately, continue to enforce a 2 metre distancing rule within healthcare buildings for the safety of all. All initial consultations, therefore, remain by telephone. If the clinician needs to see you, they will invite you in for a face to face appointment.

There is currently a shortage of appointments due to clinical staff moving outwith the area, annual leave and self isolation. We will welcome new clinicians to the team towards the end of summer. At this time routine review appointments, when available, are bookable 2 weeks in advance. For new or urgent on the day health concerns triage is available every day from 8:30 -10:30 and 1:30-2:00. Our admin team will ask for details of your health concern to ensure you are correctly signposted. all staff within the practice operate under strict confidentiality guidelines.

COVID-19 vaccinations are being delivered by the Health Board, who will send you an appointment date and time.  The Practice is unable to access the booking system so cannot advise when you will be called or change an appointment for you.

Please DO NOT contact the practice to ask for a Covid vaccination passport or status certificate – we are not able to provide any standard document. International certification standards have not yet been agreed. The Scottish Government is working to support the re-opening of international travel once it is safe to do so. They are working with the other UK Nations and with the World Health Organisation to agree on potential future COVID certification requirements for international travel. As part of this, they are developing a technical solution that could allow people to access their Covid vaccination status directly.

SMEARS - Smears have re-started within the Practice but ONLY for patients who have received an invitation to attend letter.  If you have not received this letter you will not be on the SCCRS (Scottish Cervical Call Recall System) database and the labs will be unable to process any samples taken

COVID-19 and how we are operating

Viewfield Medical Practice is currently restricting access for the safety of everyone.

The Practice REMAINS OPEN for primary care concerns, however, there is currently no open access to the building, except for patients attending the Minor Injuries Unit.  Any patients attending the Practice should only be doing so by appointment.

Throughout the pandemic our clinicians have continued to see patients in Practice.  All routine and urgent consultations will first be by telephone or video call with a clinician.  If the clinician feels it is appropriate following that consultation they may invite the patient into the Practice to be seen.  Our admin team cannot offer or access direct face to face appointments for our patients.  Our admin team may ask for details of the nature of your health concern, this is to ensure that you are directed to the most appropriate clinician, as quickly as possible.  Please remember that all our staff, clinical or admin, are bound by the same duty of confidentiality.

If you normally collect your prescription from the Practice please contact us, by telephone, to make an arrangement to have this sent to a Pharmacy of your choice.  Please re-order your prescriptions through your local pharmacy, by Patient Access (a patient ID and passcode can be sent to you by calling the practice) or by telephoning the practice between the hours of 11am-4pm.

We appreciate our phone lines are very busy, particularly between the hours of 8.30-10.30 and 1.30-2.00 when triage is taking place, but please call us on 01786 434720 for all non Covid-19 related medical concerns.
