In line with current recommendations we would ask that you continue to wear a face mask / covering when attending the practice.

Welcome to Viewfield Medical Practice

We aim to deliver a needs led, centre based, quality, primary care service through all members of the primary care team.

We have a team of GPs, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Primary Care Mental Health Nurse, Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner and Primary Care Pharmacists, supported by our admin and reception team.  We strive to get people seen by the right person at the right time and there are a number of resources to help this.

Our admin team will ask for details of your health concern to ensure you are correctly signposted but please be reassured that they, along with all staff within the practice, operate under strict confidentiality guidelines.

NHS Forth Valley provide links and advice on their website to help guide patients to the right service:  Know Who To Turn To.

NHS 24 has an online service available 24 hours 7 days a week that can provide information and advice on a wide variety of health issues:

NHS Inform provides:

  • An updated and expanded Health A-Z

  • Answers to common health questions

  • Links to local health and support information across Scotland

For new or urgent on the day health concerns clinical triage is available every day from 8:30 -10:30 and 13:30-14:00. A member of the clinical team will call you back to discuss how best to deal with your urgent health requirements.  PLEASE NOTE - Telephone triage should not be used to enquire about prescriptions or sickness certificates

FOR ANY LIFE-THREATENING EMERGENCIES PLEASE CALL 999.

FOR ANY URGENT MEDICAL CONCERNS WHICH CANNOT WAIT UNTIL THE PRACTICE RE-OPENS

COVID-19 and how we are operating.

We are moving back to a more traditional model and currently have a mix of pre-bookable face-to-face and telephone appointments available. These can be made up to a week (5 working days) in advance.  As with all parts of the health service, there is currently a lot of pressure on the system as increasing numbers of people need to be seen and so they fill up quite quickly.  By welcoming the new team members, mentioned above, we are trying to create more available appointments.  This makes it more important to direct you to the most appropriate member of staff, which our admin team can help with.  We thank you for your patience in this matter.

Recent Changes

Over the last few years there have been some changes to how some services are delivered.

Immunisations are being delivered by a new Forth Valley vaccination team.  The Practice is unable to access the booking system so cannot advise when you will be called or change an appointment for you.  This includes childhood immunisations, travel vaccines and Flu and Covid-19 immunisations.

Phlebotomy (Blood Samples) are now routinely undertaken by a new Forth Valley Service, CTAC.  We still hold the appointment book for this and the service is based in the same building as we are, but it is no longer practice staff that will be taking your blood under normal circumstances.

Get Well, Keep Well

Of course we’re not just here for when you are unwell. Our team of healthcare professionals and back-up staff offer a number of clinics and services to promote good health and wellbeing whatever your medical condition.  There is also access to advice and support through both the NHS Forth Valley and NHS Inform websites.
